About Solitaire in Windows XP

Solitaire was added in Windows 3.0 by intern Wes Cherry to get people comfortable with dragging and dropping. The Windows XP edition uses the same card faces (the deck-back choices include the castle, fish and robot) and ends a won game with the cascade of bouncing cards.

What works in this simulator

  • Draw One or Draw Three, standard or Vegas scoring
  • Drag and drop plus double-click to send a card to the foundation
  • Deck → choose card back
  • Undo and the win animation
