About Calculator in Windows XP
calc.exe in Windows XP switched to arbitrary-precision arithmetic, which is why 2 − 1.9 finally came out as 0.1 instead of a floating-point smear. It has a Standard view and a Scientific view with trigonometry, logarithms, factorials and Hex / Dec / Oct / Bin modes.
What works in this simulator
- Standard and Scientific views
- Memory keys MC, MR, MS and M+
- Keyboard entry and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V of results
- Digit grouping and the original LCD-style display
